Interviewed by Bob Goen

Although the film is still so shrouded in secrecy that the title hasn't even been announced, ET went on location in Vancouver with DAVID DUCHOVNY to see if they could find out anymore information about the super secret project set to open in theaters on June 19th. Also hear what David's big plans are for the future! ET

Bob Goen: So, how long have you been up here since you've been in L.A.? I mean, when was the last time you were home in Los Angeles?

David Duchovny: Since I was at home? Um. probably in L.A. about ten days ago.

Bob: So, did you have a house here or what did you do?

David: Well, I mean, when I got the job five years ago, I was just a bachelor without a lot of stuff. I wasn't nested in any significant way. I had silverware and Pottery Barn stuff and that's what I brought up here. No, I've got just like a few things from my possessions that will make the transition into the house that Tea and I have.

Bob: Right, so now you're starting the nest at home with Tea?

David: Yes. She's pretty much feathered the nest. It's mostly her stuff, and she has great stuff. It's very eclectic and it's been important to her to get this stuff over the years- so she's been collecting. And I've just been like, grabbing. You know, I'm just like- "Oh, I can sit on that. They call that a chair. It's in my house." So most of the stuff is gone. You know, I threw out like half of my wardrobe. I just threw out half of it.

Bob: Was moving the show to L.A. your idea?

David: It's a long story. I mean, the story goes back five years when one of my first concerns about doing the show was the fact that it shot out of L.A. And every year that we stayed up there was year in which I said, "Yeah, but weren't we talking about moving?" It was like they had a carrot out in front of me the whole time , and it finally just got to the point where I just had to go back home and just say, you know, you guys promised at some point. So it's never been like the kind of thing where I got to Vancouver and I said "My God, they're all Canadian!" and I had to go home- it's never been anything personal- it's only been that eventually we would bring the show back. And if I had been more active in that than Gillian that's probably the case, but it's always like I seem to be going first. I mean, and they like to attack men more than they like to attack women in these things. So I'm the poster child for Big Bad America.

Bob: You're taking a honeymoon- what are you doing?

David: Well, I'm going to go do Saturday Night Live on May 9th and then, so I'll be in New York actually, I won't be home. And then Tea who will have to have gone to Europe to promote her new movie will meet me in New York. On May 9th and from there we will go travel around the Northeast or something. You know, in a little VW Microbus- that whole thing.

Bob: Is that what it's going to be?

David: No, I'm kidding. But hey, we got the Bug, I'm just waiting for the Microbus to come back.

Bob: What are you going to do for a honeymoon?

David: I don't know. I don't know. I don't think of it as a honeymoon, I just think we have time together. We still want to do the thing where I want to show her certain things from my past. Even though we're both from the same city, there are places in New York that I want to go to her with and places in New Jersey and Massachusetts that she wants to take me to. Certain things we want to share with each other geographically.

Bob: Can you tell us anything about the movie? Any secret, inside stuff?

David: Seriously, I could not tell you what the movie was about. But I can tell you that it's huge. I mean, it's huge. It's really. It's an action movie. It's a great action film. It's really good. There's probably the most interesting screen kiss that I can think of- and I say interesting. And that's because the show is such that, you know, everybody in the movie wants the- you know when you talk about the movie they want to know if you guys get together physically. And it was handled in a really clever, and I think sexy, and interesting way.
